A middle-aged man leaves an office in the Petronas Towers after a failed robbery while being pursued by two assassins. Cornered, the man was hit by a bicycle and seriously injured, leaving him in a coma. Meanwhile, Vasu Rajagopalan, a doctor who recently moved to Kuala Lumpur with his pregnant wife Aatirah, is assigned to the hospital where the comatose thief admit. After spoiling an assassination attempt on the thief’s life, he contacts the police, who turn the matter over to Inspector Kalpana Rangaswamy.

She gives Vasu her phone number and advises him to call her if he finds anything suspicious. Back home, a man attacks Vasu and knocks him unconscious before kidnapping Aatirah. When Vasu regains consciousness, he receives a call from the assailant, who orders him to release the thief from the hospital in exchange for Aatirah.

Meanwhile, Kalpana discovers the thief’s identity: KK, a notorious criminal and former police officer, wanted theft and smuggling. She dailies to the hospital with her associates, Navin and Catherine, narrowly missing Vasu, who had managed to exfiltrate KK from the hospital. The rival Kalpana team, led by Deputy Commissioner Vincent Rajadurai, known for his brutal way of solving criminal cases, is also on the heels of the KK case.

He explains to Kalpana that KK is linked to the recent murder of a wealthy industrialist and warns her to back down, which she refuses to do. Meanwhile, Vasu demands that KK release Aatirah to KL Sentral in exchange for his safe delivery, to which he agrees. At the conversation point, Aatirah and KK are almost on the verge of being exchanged, but the two assassins who had chased KK earlier arrive, forcing the duos to escape.

The attacker brings Aatirah back to his hiding place but kills the two assassins, who kidnap Aatirah by force. Vasu and KK take refuge in KK’s safe house. While KK distracts, Vasu manages to contact Kalpana, warning him of his dire situation. Kalpana arrives at the hideout, but not before Vincent’s team does. She is then shot by Vincent, who turns out to be a dirty cop.

After Vincent leaves, KK manages to overpower his captors and injures one of Vincent’s men, Umar, demanding the truth about his unsuccessful robbery attempt. Umar reveals to KK that he was only a pawn in Vincent’s criminal actions; a businessman had hired Vincent to kill his father, the industrialist so that he would inherit his father’s wealth.

Vincent had recorded the event with a spy camera. He had arranged for his colleague, Anand Makaio, the boss of KK, to cover his tracks. Makaio had sent KK to the industrialist’s office at the Petronas Towers to retrieve the files of his criminal cases. It was a trick set by Vincent, who was to accuse someone of the murder. Vincent’s men (the two killers) also attempted to assassinate KK (as shown at the film’s start); they had retired after the KK accident.

The police arrive at the safe house, forcing KK and Vasu to escape. Vasu is charged with the murder of Kalpana, making him a wanted fugitive.

Police chase the duo through town but miss them. Vasu begs KK to but his wife, to which he agreements. Seven years future, on Vasu’s daughter’s birthday, Vasu and Aatirah discover that Vincent was murdered under mysterious circumstances while he was on probation. They also receive a gift from KK, which contains a necklace that Aatirah had once worn, implying that KK had murdered Vincent.
